We did something pretty cool today, well not us exactly but we went to watch someone else do something pretty cool.
Masa's friend,Mr. Fujimaki (Maki Maki from Nagano) and Mr Nishioka (from Hyougo, near Kobe) came to Gamagori to try out the local racing circuit. They weren't racing as such but you can use the track for an hour and do time trails etc.. Now they weren't racing ordinary cars either. Fujimaki san drives a much improved Subaru Impreza and Nishioka san drives a very impressive BMW (noisy too with muffler options). These are what we would call 'boy racers' at home only they have very nice cars and a lot more money to play with. Alas my poor husband with no money and his tank had to watch. I didn't mind, it's a bit nerve-racking.
The track with Masa and "Maki Maki" in the background.
That nice BMW I was telling you about.
Mr Nishioka (dentist by day, racer by night) and yes, that is sweat. I didn't realise but you can't use the airconditioning when you're racing, it effects the engine. It was lovely and hot today too, about 33 degrees celsius and very very humid.
Mufflers.....bubububrmmmmmm bubububrummmmmmm.
"Maki Maki" and his baby (the car, not Nishioka san).
The pit stop girls (and Hiro). Maki Maki's gorgeous wife Rika (7 months pregnant and you wouldn't notice), their hunky little boy Hiro and my sweaty, smelly pair.
The gang having a break before the second leg.
Me, trying to be part of the cool gang.
The circuit, built between the sea and the mountains.
