Still here. Trying to sit still. Not doing very well. As a result not feeling great. The bean is grand but I think I have my anemia back. I had to use the shopping trolley from our supermarket next door to support me home yesterday. Feeling old I tell ya!
I sat down and gave Masa a list of pregnancy ailments the other night, was hoping it would put him off the idea of four children. Masa wants a mad house. I think we already have a mad house and 3 little mad girls is enough. Men just don't get it though do they? I reckon if men were to have babies we'd all come from single child families.
Being forced to sit at home isn't any fun either and that's giving me the grumps. I'm happier out and about, plus I've less time to moan when I'm busy.
I'm still getting up, cooking breakfast and making bentos (lunch boxes). I make the lunch box because then himself won't survive on donuts for the day. I cook the breakfast because it's really is the only time we all get to eat together everyday, albeit a little grumpily. The girls eat a lot lately too. They also get a very healthy school lunch so the pressure is off then when they come home. Not that I toss out ham sandwiches for supper time but it doesn't need to be the biggest meal. The other day a Mum at the preschool asked me what my children ate. "Food" would have been a rather rude reply but I know what she was getting at. I get asked this question a million times a year. "What do you feed your children?". Being a foreigner they're all a bit curious about whether I actually cook or just shovel out tins of sweet corn etc.. I'm not the only one driven mad by this question thankfully but it does get a bit tiresome. I cook half and half, is what I always reply. Probably more Japanese food lately as it's easier, healthier and the pair rarely complain about beans, greens or fish when it's given to them in Japanese dishes. Try it in western style salads, pastas and sautes and the noses start crinkling immediately. Still they're not very picky children and since I seem to be making more stews and soups lately, they've been very good.
Now I just have to try and figure out what size of turkey I need for Christmas (7 of us and counting). I also need to get going on my Christmas cake and mince pies. The cake is easy, the pies are a pain but it's not Christmas without them. I probably won't do a pudding, nor will I order Brussels Sprouts, only got those last year for Simon. Still have half a pack left, might send them to Mrs. Janinet this year!! I have ordered a lot of the gifts and not finished my cards yet. Nina wants to know why we don't have our decorations up yet since the rest of the country does. I told her they don't quite get the whole Christmas thing over here (and they don't, all the Christmas stuff goes on sale the week before Christmas (very handy) and they take down the decorations Christmas day). I doubt we'll last until the week before Christmas so will start decorating mid December.
I think I'm getting excited.
We're writing our letters to Santa tonight.
Nina wants real stamps and to post it herself.
That'll really stump the Japanese local Post Office.
Even though, they'll probably guess it's us, again!!
Now if I could just locate some crackers.
